THE ARTWORK
THE STORY
I have been working with the human form since I was a young whether it be drawing, sculpting, or generating in 3d software. Most of my work in college was always focused on the shapes, lines, and emotion of people. Most often my work has always been abstract with hints of reality to distort what it is you’re seeing. The viewer is able to imagine what they think they’re seeing verse me being so bold as to tell you.
Emergence began as a personal project many years ago. I worked on the idea of a human form being birthed from liquid, struggling to get out. The early form of the project was of skulls, ears, hands, and mouths being formed out of the liquid. But as I got deeper in to the work I recognized the face and head was what always resonated with me the most. There was something beautiful and elegant about the shape of the face pushing its way out of the inky liquid.
While it took me nearly 4 years to complete the Emergence project I believe that its a stronger concept now than it was when it first began. This project has been a passion of mine for many years and while it’s hard to let my work go, it’s time to set it free.
Emergence is a feeling of warm liquid, hugging the contours of a face. A darkened backdrop intertwines with colorful, saturated, bright, and wet highlights. Micro details give the viewer the sense of movement and motion. Slowly pushing through the flat surface of fluid, a face emerges. Emergence is the creation of life.
THE ROADMAP
PHASE 1: FOUNDATION.APP DROP
Drop One: 10 images from Emergence 001 are listed on Foundation.app and auction sale period commences. 1 image will be listed, per day, over the course of 10 days.
Drop Two: 10, H.264, quicktime looping liquid face animations will be listed for auction.
PHASE 2: THE FUTURE
Successful sales of this project will allow me to continue developing new projects which I’ve already been sketching. The Emergence community will have the opportunity to follow my activities closely, receive advanced viewings of new projects, and be given first-chance opportunities to collect future work I produce. I will remain dedicated to building community around Emergence along with future projects. I am also looking at creating an art gallery viewing space on my parcel of LAND on The Sandbox.
